We're Ric & Rose, of Grover Films. Based in the center of the San Francisco Bay Area & the Monterey Bay Area, in Santa Cruz, the two of us specialize in artistically filmed & edited cinematic wedding films. We do our best to do more than just document each wedding; for every couple we create a unique piece of art to tell their story. We LOVE destination weddings, and out door weddings in places like Napa California and Nestldown in the Los Gatos Mountains.

With rain comes rainbows and Chris and Sarah got two! We just loved the dynamic look that the crazy and unexpected weather brought to this beautiful day. Chris and Sarah were up for anything, even a first sight in the rain! We enjoyed every minute: the rain, the rainbows and the sherbet sunset that followed.

Working in collaboration with Danielle, from Danielle Gillett Photography, is always so much fun! And with Sarah and Chris's thoughtful schedule we had plenty of time to capture artistic shots, intimate moments and some fantastic fun on the dance floor.

Award Winning Film Featured on Green Wedding Shoes ~ Betty & Jonathan's Sequoia Retreat Center Wedding

Betty and Jonathan's film won first place at the 2017 BAPVA film competition! And was featured on Green Wedding Shoes today!

Betty and Jonathan planned a wedding in the woods surrounded with their closest family and friends from across the country. They fell in love with the Sequoia Retreat Center's stunning redwood amphitheater, where they held their ceremony. And as we got to know them, we fell in love with the sweet romance between them and the relaxed way they embraced their wedding day. It was picture perfect in every way.

For their film they wanted the forest setting and the beauty of the nature all around them to shine through. With the focus on the two of them, and their love, they were looking for a film that would flow in a way that would incorporate bits of their vows and loved ones' speeches. When it came to music, they gave us free rein, and we are so glad they did. What we found for them turned out to be a bit different, as you may have noticed. We listened to countless songs in choosing the perfect one for them. We wanted the song to fit them and their special day. We were over-the-moon when they loved the music we chose as much as we did! You can hear from them, in their own words, how they felt about us, and their film, below.

We also have to mention the incredible team of vendors these two brought together to create and capture their wedding. Everyone was a dream to work with. Jakob from Nordica Photography has an impeccable eye for light and was a fantastic collaborator. He was up for anything, and shared our vision for capturing these two in the stunning setting they picked for their big day. Jessica from Art & Soul Events did a fantastic job coordinating this day! She is based in LA, but you would never know it, she seamlessly brought this outdoor forest wedding to life, like she had worked in the woods a million times. Tierney & Mike’s Nestldown Wedding | Highlights Film

Living in New York, Tierney and Mike wanted a destination wedding surrounded in all the natural beauty California has to offer. With all of their most beloved family and friends coming out from NJ they couldn't wait to spend the day and night with everyone.

Nestldown is tucked in the mountains just outside of Silicon Valley, close to San Francisco, and it was perfect for their intimate fairy tale wedding. The outdoor ceremony space encircled by towering redwoods created an incredible spot to tie the knot. They held cocktail hour and dinner outside on the lawns bordered by one of the orchards and the lovely koi pond. Guests then gathered in the cozy barn to toast and dance into the night.

Grover Films Won The Bay Area Wedding Videographer of the Year Award!

We are so honored to have won the Bay Area Videographer Association (BAPVA) award for the Best Event Videographer of the year!! It's a huge privilege to be selected by fellow filmmakers for this award. Every film submitted is judged from a professional standpoint. They look for skilled storytelling, excellent audio quality, and beautiful cinematography that is both consistent and compelling. This group constantly pushes us to be our best; they help us hone our skills and encourage us to push our limits as filmmakers. We could not be happier to have been chosen by such a talented group of cinematographers as the Bay Areas best!

Nikki and Chris wanted to start the rest of their lives together with all of their closest and most beloved friends and family in one place. They wanted everyone to be able to celebrate their love, mingle, laugh and dance together into the night. With the help of Coastside Couture, they found Gardener Ranch in Carmel Valley. It had the perfect combination of elegance and rustic charm for their celebration.

We had the pleasure of filming this wedding alongside the incredibly talented photography team from Sun and Life. Dorianna and Jeff are perfection to work with. They are amazing photographers, super fun, and always up for creative collaboration. We adore them! This day brought with it every kind of weather: sunshine, fog, wind and torrential rain! It was beautiful, dramatic and unlike any other day! This secret venue only hosts a handful of weddings each year. It's located just off the coast between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, so it is quite a gem. We absolutely loved filming there! The fairy circle of redwoods, the house surrounded by a little lake and the fern filled forest were adored by guests. When our host drove us to the top of the mountain on a four wheel drive only dirt road, we were gobsmacked by the spectacular sweeping views and dramatic fog rolling in around us.

Leyla and Matthew couldn't wait to get married and celebrate surrounded by their supportive friends and family. They were really excited to be able to look back and see the two of them, their love, and the beautiful outdoor setting all come together on film. They loved the unique setting and their planner, from Coastside Couture, did a fantastic job of using all the space to let people spread out and enjoy themselves. Leyla and Matthew had two ceremonies, one in the redwood fairy circle and a traditional Persian ceremony. These were followed by a lovely cocktail hour and a big beautiful dinner under white canopies to protect everyone from the rain that came pouring down in the evening.

I was totally blown away by how lovely it was and how great it made us feel to be able to relive the day. We can’t thank you enough, I’m so happy we decided to have video. We truly had an exceptional team of vendors. Leyla and Mathew's wedding was a whirlwind. It was packed to the gills with things we wanted to capture and rather extreme weather conditions that everyone had to adapt to. With this team the day flowed seamlessly. Coastside Couture did an outstanding job bringing all the details together and making sure people were warm and dry, and that everyone was happy all day and night. The florals by Seascape Flowers were beautiful, as usual, and they stood up in the rain! We worked alongside Bethany Carlson, their photographer, all day. It's a rare and special treat for us to get behind-the-scenes pictures, so we can't help but share these beautiful photos from Bethany Carlson! We can't thank her enough for capturing these moments for us! They really bring back all of the fun we had that day and remind me of just how crazy the wind was on the top of that mountain. It was almost as incredible as the panoramic views!
